TRANSFORMER
Furniture Design
According to the project assignment, a piece of furniture was to be designed for a specific Wiesbaden interior, in this case for the landmarked reading room in the Hessian State Library.
At first glance all you see is a white dresser, but when opened the object transforms into a reclining chair.
This piece of furniture is made entirely out of discarded objects: chairs, drawers, a cabinet, an armchair and a dresser were adapted to form this new design. As the name suggests, the dresser is transformed to such extent, that it no longer fulfills its initial function – instead it is now used as a place to work and to relax.
